PGMOL is set to investigate the clash between Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and one of the assistant referees from Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
Robertson went to confront official Constantine Hatzidakis after the half-time whistle and was brushed off by the assistant referee and it appeared like it caught him in the face.
Robertson and his captain Jordan Henderson angrily reported the incident to the center referee Paul Tierney, but he got a yellow card for his protest instead.
However, PSMOL have confirmed that they will investigate the incident that happened in the match.
PGMOL issued a statement saying: “PGMOL is aware of an incident involving assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson at half-time during the Liverpool v Arsenal fixture at Anfield.”
”We will review the matter in full once the game has concluded.”
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s head coach, revealed that he did not see the incident while addressing reporters in a post-match conference.
“I didn’t see it,” the German said. “Now obviously I have time to watch it but I didn’t, just because I cannot give you the answers. I didn’t see it. I heard the pictures speak for themselves. I cannot say anymore. I didn’t see a bit.”
Klopp was asked if the officials attempted to explain things to him or his player, he said; “No. They don’t come to us. If we have something we have to go to them, and I didn’t want anything.”
“I think there are some things we can talk about but they are not really helpful, but we had our issues with some referees.”
The incident came as Liverpool were losing 2-1 to Arsenal in their match-up on Easter Sunday.
Liverpool managed to draw the game as they ended the match 2-2 sharing the points at Anfield.
PGMOL
The Profesional Game Match Officials also known as PGMOL is responsible for match officiating in the English Premier League.
The organization was formerly Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOB), and was formed in 2001.
This was formed to provide officials for all games played in the Premier League, English Football League (EFL), and Football Association (FA) competitions.
This feat made England the first country in the world to fully professionalize its referees.
The organization is a non-profit company limited, owned and funded by the Premier League, EFL, and the FA.

However, this is not the first time we are seeing such blunders and Howard Webb keep apologizing, week-in week-out.
Here we will see the 10 times PGOL has had to apologize this season.
