Van de Beek’s injury came after he clashed with Marco Senesi during the 3-0 victory at Old Trafford against Bournemouth in January.

The match was only the fourth start of a disappointing campaign mixed with the eventual injury after a loan spell at Everton.

The knee injury was a serious one that will keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

Since Van De Beek was forced to undergo knee surgery, the midfielder has not updated United fans on his progress until March when he shared a video of himself doing some resistance work in the gym.

Manchester United fans were more than happy to see their midfielder back with a ball at his feet with the hope he has a long-lasting injury-free play time when he returns to the pitch.

    Van de Beek’s Career

Having previously reached the final of the Europa League in 2017, when Ajax lost to Manchester United, Van de Beek came to the limelight as a promising young player at Ajax, where he won the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup in the 2018/19 season.

In August 2020, Van de Beek became a Manchester United player but he most times finds himself on the bench, especially while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge.

He featured only in four Premier League matches during his first season at Old Trafford.

In his second year, he was not started in the Premier League at all.

In the ten Premier League matches under former interim managers Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick, he totalled only 9 minutes of playing time.

Having grown frustrated with his situation at Old Trafford, the Netherlands midfielder joined Everton on loan at the end of January 2022.

Van de Beek has featured more prominently for Everton, making six Premier League appearances for the club, before a persistent thigh problem marred his stint.

The last Premier League match of the season for the Toffees was a 5–1 defeat against Arsenal and Van de Beek scored the Everton goal.

Donny van de Beek was last seen in football action in January 2023, when he suffered a knee injury in a 3–0 win over AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford that ruled him out for the rest of the season.
