Pep Guardiola lauded Erling Haaland for his elite level performance in Manchester City’s Premier League win over Nottingham Forest.
Guardiola was pleased with the victory, especially considering the fact that they played with 10 men for over 50 minutes after Rodri was sent off.
“I am very happy with the win,” Guardiola said in his post-match press conference. “It was a difficult game, especially after Rodri’s red card. But we showed great character and determination to get the three points.
“I am particularly pleased with the way we defended in the second half. We were very disciplined and we didn’t give Forest too many chances.
“This win is very important for us. It keeps us top of the table and it shows that we are a team that can win even when we are not at our best.”

Pep Guardiola also praised Phil Foden and Erling Haaland for their goals. Foden scored a brilliant individual goal in the first half to give City the lead, and Haaland added a second goal with a powerful header.
“Phil and Erling are two of the best players in the world,” Guardiola said. “They are both very talented and they are both very important players for us.
“Phil scored a great goal today and Erling scored a powerful header. They are both a threat to any team in the world.”
