    Pedri of Barcelona took to his Instagram page with excitement to show the world that he met his grandma after a long wait.

    Based on the images Pedri posted, he was looking all happy and excited as he hugged the elderly looking woman whom he referred to as “Yaya.”

    In the first image, he held Yaya by her waist while both of them smiled to the camera, while he was seen kissing her on the head in the second image.

    In the caption of the post he shared on Instagram, the footballer wrote: “How long had I been waiting for this visit… I love you, Yaya! 😍 😍.”

    Pedri is currently the highest-valued player in the Barcelona squad.

    The midfielder is one of the youngest prospects in world football and he is valued at £87.91million currently.

    Barcelona Manager Xavi told reporters when discussing about his player Pedri: “He is a player who is on another level, I have seen very few like him.”

    “He is talented, he is at the level of Iniesta, but Andres had a continuity to the point that he is still playing.”

    “If we compare Pedri to Iniesta at the moment Iniesta wins easily because he played for so long. For me he is the greatest talent Spanish football ever produced. But Pedri is very good, he has a similar talent.”

    Barcelona have been guilty of wasting their money over the years as they have been trying to secure quality players outside the club’s prestigious football academy.

    However, with their recruitment process now focused on youngsters, they seem to be on their way back to the top.

    Pedro González López who is also known as Pedri was born on 25th November 2002.

    He is a Spanish footballer who plays as a central midfielder for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national team respectively.

    Early Life

    He was born in Bajamar, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Pedri’s family moved to Tegueste, a nearby town, when he was just 3 years old.

    From there, Pedri joined UD Tegueste, starting as a centre-back. At 12, Pedri signed for CF Juventud Laguna, where he played until 2018.

    Where he moved to Las Palma’s youth academy where he signed his professional contract after he wa promoted to the first team.

    Barcelona reached an agreement with Las Palmas for the transfer of Pedri On 2nd September 2019, which was effective from 1st of July 2020.

    Pedri’s Parents And Siblings

    When Barca signed the Spaniard, he was required to relocate to City where midfielder lives with his older brother, Fernando, in Barcelona.

    They grew up playing together in the streets of Teguesto in Spain and now that Pedri plays professional football, they are still together.

    Together they enjoy the city beyond soccer, and Fernando is in charge of the food. “I get along very well with my brother. There were more discussions at home, with my parents,” Pedri confirmed.

    Pedri’s parents are María Rosario and Fernando, they own a roadside bar that serves typical Islas Canarias food, where many surfers go on their way to the areas of Bajamar or Puerto Hidalgo.

    His father works in the bar and lounge area, while his mother, and his paternal grandmother Candelaria, are in charge of the kitchen offering what is seen as a “real homemade” food.

    How Good Is Pedri?

    Pedri usually plays in a free midfield role. This allows him to be everywhere on the pitch. He also like to stay in the central area and in between the lines.

    He is also good at moving out wide and running towards the touchline which gives him space to create chances for his teammates.

    The midfielder started playing as a centre-back before he moved to the wings, he later transitioned to midfield where he can play as an attacking midfielder, as well as in several other offensive and midfield roles.

    He has also occasionally been used as a defensive midfielder and even as a centre-forward.
