Barcelona hosted the Mexican club at Camp Nou as they sharpened up the club’s line-up ahead of the 2022-2023 La Liga season. The Blaugrana have won the competition 44 times and looked forward to making it 45th against Puma on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

The first half began with an incredible charge by Barcelona against their visitors. It was a rout by the home side, and they pressed the visitors into their half in search of an opening goal.

It was Robert Lewandowski with the opening goal in the third minute. Pedri assisted the Poland international in firing a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner.

The Blaugrana overwhelmed their visitors as they pressed for a second goal with commanding ball possession. It was Pedri in the 5th minute. From the right flank of the six-yard box, Pedri fired a right-footed shot to the center of the goal post. It was Barcelona 2, Pumas 0.

Five minutes later, Dembele, assisted by Raphinha, fired into the bottom right corner from the center of the box to make it 3 for the Catalans.

The visitors had lost their radar as a superior, and brilliant Barcelona midfield put the game beyond them. The Blaugrana continued to pass the ball around comfortably.

It was Pedri and Lewandowski again in the 19th minute. After an assist by Lewandowski, Pedri fired into the net from the center of the box to make it four goals for the hosts.

The first half ended with Barcelona cruising to a comfortable 4-0 lead as they went into the break.

The second half began with Barcelona still dominating the game and pushing for the 5th goal of the match.

It was Aubamenyang who made it 5-0 for the hosts in the 49th minute. Franck Kessie assisted him in firing into the bottom right corner from a close range to sink the visitors further.

Barcelona dominated the game, with the final goal coming in the 85th minute, as De Jong scored to make it 6-0 for the hosts.

The final whistle announced that coach Xavi’s side has walloped their visitors 6-0 to land their 45th Joan Gamper cup.
