Callum Hudson Odoi wants to leave Chelsea to where he could play more regularly since he could not establish himself at the Premier League club.

The 21-year-old was absent from the starting lineup for the Premier League match against Everton on Saturday, where Jorginho’s penalty gave Thomas Tuchel’s team a victory to start the new season.

While Chelsea has said they will allow Hudson-Odoi to move elsewhere, he has made it obvious that he wants to play for the club’s first team.

According to reports, Hudson Odoi’s future would most likely be resolved by a loan move. Borussia Dortmund, Southampton, and Juventus are among the teams reportedly keeping a close eye on the winger’s situation.

He has sought to quit the Blues, according to the Daily Mail, to get regular playing time.

Dortmund appears to be first in line to get Hudson Odoi’s signature.

Several clubs are interested in signing Odoi for the remainder of the season, and his representatives are working to secure a transfer for him.

He has informed the club that he wants to go now that he is once again out of the first-team picture.

Borussia Dortmund, a German club, has reportedly shown a long-standing interest in Hudson-Odoi and is eager to sign him now that he is free.

Callum Hudson Odoi signed a five-year contract with Chelsea that is expected to keep him at the club until June 30, 2024. Chelsea extended his contract then after Bayern Munich showed interest in him in 2019.

The player’s representatives are currently negotiating a potential loan move with Dortmund instead, according to Sky Sports News.

In a recent interview with Chelsea’s official website, Hudson Odoi expressed his desire to play regular football.

“I want to play as much as I can,” he declared.

“I just want to keep playing and playing as much as I can because regular football brings out consistency.”

In 2017, when England won the U17 World Cup, Hudson Odoi was one of the standout players. A few months later, he made his Chelsea debut. Later, in March 2019, he made history by making his senior debut for England in a competitive game at the age of 23.

Later that year, he suffered a catastrophic Achilles injury, which significantly slowed his development. Ever since he has had trouble maintaining strong form.

He has thus been unable to make a name for himself on a Chelsea team that boasts top-tier attacking players like Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, and Christian Pulisic.

If Callum Hudson Odoi wants to play frequently, he will need to look elsewhere given Raheem Sterling’s joining this summer.

The summer transfer window will close with Chelsea having a busy schedule as several players are expected to leave.

Timo Werner and Marcos Alonso, among others, are getting closer to leaving the team in addition to Hudson Odoi.

After a difficult time at Stamford Bridge where he never got the chance to get going, German striker Werner is ready to return to RB Leipzig.

While Barcelona, a powerhouse in La Liga, is showing interest in Spanish full-back Alonso.
