Paul Pogba suffered another muscle injury during his appearance for Juventus against Empoli on Sunday, 3rd of September.

The French midfielder will be heading for some medical tests after the injury setback he experienced last night.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri disclosed the news in his post-match report that the former Manchester United player endured to finish the match after coming off the bench in the second half.

What happened to Paul Pogba?

Paul Pogba was absent from the season-opening game due to poor conditioning because of a last injury he had.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner featured as a substitute in Juventus’ last two matches, delivering a superb contribution.

Paul Pogba missed most of the 2022/2023 Serie A campaign due to a meniscus tear that was initially mishandled. The 30-year-old tried every possible means to avoid surgery to be available for the 2022 FIFA World Cup but was unable to meet up.

He finally underwent surgery in September 2022, 40 days after he sustained the injury, and was on the sidelines for over four months.

Pogba is still struggling with surviving difficulties developing from that knee injury and has endured numerous thigh problems after his return.

The French International midfielder eventually made just ten appearances in the previous season, delivering one assist.

Paul Pogba could be out once again following a wound in the back he complained of after Juventus’s Serie A clash against Empoli at Carlo Castellani Stadium.

On Sunday, 3rd of September, Juventus cruised to a 2-0 victory against Empoli that proved to be a no-match for Max Allegri’s side.

Speaking to reporters after the Empoli game, Allegri said: “Pogba felt a pain in the back, we’ll see what the exams say. Too bad because it went well”.

Pogba has emerged in only 12 games for the Bianconeri since returning to Turin as a free agent in the summer of 2022 after he departed Manchester United.

A severe knee crisis kept him out of activity for a lengthy period and even threatened him to go through surgery. He missed the team’s whole pre-season matches in the U.S. this year before the league kicked off.

The Old Ladies will be hoping that it turns out to be a minor situation, as it would be a huge disgrace to lose Paul Pogba’s contributions once again, having just returned from an initial injury.

Juventus provided Pogba injury update

There were suspicions in the last minutes during the Juventus match against Empoli when Pogba was discovered grabbing the back of his thigh and talking intently with the physicians after the game.

However, the Turin medical staff validated that the Manchester United academy product has not endured any serious muscular injuries.

Fortunately for Juventus, the outcomes came back on Monday, the 4th of September, and was confirmed that Pogba has not sustained any issues, there is just a minor excess of the semimembranosus muscle of the right thigh.

The Old Ladies will be in action again in Serie A on September 16, 2023, against Lazio after the International break.
