Paul Pogba could become one of the highest-paid footballers in the world if he refuses to extend his contract with Manchester United this summer and join Paris Saint Germain for free next summer.

Paul Pogba’s contract with Manchester United will expire in the summer of 2022 and the Frenchman is still making it hard for the Premier League giants to extend his contract.

Manchester United are trying so hard to extend the contract of the 28-year-old France international who has been at the club since 2016 for no known reason. Pogba has not said he wants to leave United and the club are very interested in keeping him.

Recall that Paul Pogba had a part of his youth career at Manchester United before he gained promotion to the club’s reserve team on July 1, 2011. However, the Premier League club failed to give him space in the senior team.

Hence, on August 3, 2012, Manchester United allowed him to leave the club to join Juventus for free. While at the Italian club, he gave a very good account of himself that Manchester United asked for his service.

Due to how efficient he was at Juventus, the Italian club sold him to Manchester United for a then British transfer record fee worth €105 million on August 9, 2016.

His return to Manchester United has not yielded much especially under the current coach of the club, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He has always been criticized by British pundits for not being consistent as expected.

However, Paul Pogba has continued to prove that he is a player of quality. For instance, in the Manchester United Premier League opener this season, Pogba was so good that he provided 4 assists in United’s 5-1 victory over Leeds United.

Despite how often coach Solskjaer stressed that Paul Pogba is a player of the club, Paris Saint Germain have continued to serve as a distraction to the French midfielder.

The latest reports claimed that PSG are willing to wait until the contract of Paul Pogba at United expires next summer. PSG have prepared a contract for Pogba which would earn him a whopping €600,000 per week according to the Independent.

The deal is said to be almost opposite to what Manchester United intend to offer him this summer which Pogba and his representatives are still understudying.

Since 2016, Paul Pogba has been earning £290,000 per week at Manchester United which means that his yearly wage at the Premier League club is £15,080,000.
