Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, Paris Saint Germain forward, Neymar, Corinthians winger, Willian, and Chelsea defender, Thiago Silva are among the football stars that took to their various social media pages to celebrate Steph Curry who became the NBA’s all-time leader in career 3-pointers on Tuesday, November 14, 2021.
The football stars shared pictures of the basketball player on their Instagram stories tagging the basketball icon with complimentary messages.
For instance, in Neymar’s Instagram post, the PSG star who is currently battling an injury dropped emojis of clapping hands with pictures of Steph Curry.
On Willian’s Instagram story, the Brazilian football star described the basketball player as a game-changer, adding that Steph Curry would score more three-pointers.
On the part of Thiago Silva, the Brazilian defender shared pictures of the basketball player and described him as a unique warrior.
Since Tuesday night when Steph Curry broke Ray Allen’s three-pointers record during Golden State Warriors’ 105-96 victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, he has been the most talked-about basketball player in the world.
The 33-year-old Ohio-born basketball star broke the 3-point record after featuring in 789 basketball games. Steph Curry’s achievement is so special because it took him 511 fewer games than it took Allen (1,300 games) to set the record in 2011.
As it stands, if Curry can score 26 more 3-pointers before he retires from the game, he would become the first and only basketball player in the history of the game to record 3,000 three-pointers. Ahead of such a milestone, many basketball enthusiasts believe he is the best shooter in the history of the game.
To make the record-breaking night more beautiful, the former holders of the record, Reggie Miller and Allen were present at the Madison Square Garden when Curry broke the record.
A host of American celebrities like Alicia Keys, former NFL star and TV host Michael Strahan, comedian Pete Davidson and Steph’s parents, Dell and Sonya Curry were present at the Garden.
Also, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers made good his promise by congratulating Curry on social media after the basketball player broke the NBA’s all-time three-point record.
Recall that after his team’s victory over Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, James told reporters that he wished he could watch Curry break the record. “I’ll be one of the guys in our league that will congratulate him socially”, James said.
“We’re all witnesses to what Steph Curry has done in his career and the way that he’s changed the game. He’s a once-in-a-lifetime basketball player”, he added.
After Stephen Curry had broken the record, Lebron James took to Twitter to write: “Just landed in Dallas to see @StephenCurry30
