Paris Saint Germain have completed the signing of Italian midfielder Cher Ndour on a five-year deal.

Ndour joins PSG on a free transfer, after his contract with Benfica came to an end on the 30th of June, 2023.

The 18-year-old made 35 appearances for Benfica B last term, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assists.

He made his debut for the senior team of Benfica on the 18th of March, 2023, and he was introduced as a substitute to Rafa Silva in the dying embers of a 5-1 victory over Vitoria de Guimaraes.

Paris Saint Germain statement on the signing of Cher Ndour

Confirming his arrival to PSG, the club put out a statement on it’s website which reads: “Paris Saint-Germain are pleased to announce the signing of Cher Ndour.

“The 18-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the club. He will wear number 27.”

Ndour has been tipped as “the next Paul Pogba” due to the similarity of his football style with that of the Frenchman.

Luis Enrique’s side continues to make necessary reinforcement this summer as they intend to launch an assault on the Champions League next term.

Following the departure of Lionel Messi in June and the uncertainty regarding the future of Kylian Mbappe, PSG are making needed signings that will help to bolster their squad.

The Paris-based club won only the French Ligue 1 and the Trophée des Champions last term and they weren’t contented by those successes.

Paris Saint Germain dismissed Christophe Galtier at the end of the season, despite achieving domestic success in his one-season stint at the Parc Des Princes.
