It has been reported that Paris Saint Germain believe Kylian Mbappe has opted to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.
PSG gave Mbappe a two-week ultimatum to decide his future in the midst of brewing tensions.
The Frenchman has already told the Paris based club that he will not further his current deal through a strongly worded letter.
Kylian Mbappe’s contract with the Parisians comes to an end in the summer of 2024 and Paris Saint Germain face the possibility of losing him on a free.
Due to that, the Ligue 1 champions might be forced to cash in on him this summer in order not to lose him for free.
However, this information shared by Sky Sports puts the Paris based club in a conundrum.
Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid
If stories littering around regarding an agreement between Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid are factual, then it would be difficult to scoop some money off him in his departure.
This is something the French giants will be hoping to do if he doesn’t sign a contract extension with the club.
Real Madrid are obviously favorites to sign the 24-year-old and if he joins them for free next summer, it would be a big gain for the Spanish giants.
It is believed that PSG are hoping that Kylian Mbappe agrees a contract extension until 2025 and if that doesn’t come to fruition, they would try to sell him off this summer.
The Parisians are looking to earn about £150 million from the sale of their all-time top scorer.
Mbappe has been linked with a move to several teams this summer, with a potential move to Liverpool and Arsenal the most recent of those speculations.
Reports indicate that the Frenchman would prefer a move to Arsenal, if he has to join a Premier League side.
Mbappe is fascinated by the ongoing project at Arsenal
This is due to his admiration for Mikel Arteta’s ongoing project at the North London side.
The Gunners have already signed Kai Havertz this summer and they have been linked with other high-profile players this summer.
The North London side are set to complete a deal for West Ham captain, Declan Rice for a club-record fee and more signings are expected to be made.
Arsenal are looking to launch an assault on the Premier League title next season, having bottled their lead at the summit of the table last term, allowing Manchester City claim the trophy.
Meanwhile, PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khalaifi has said that it would be “impossible” for the 23-year-old to exit the club for free, after unveiling Luis Enrique as manager.
He expressed that no individual is bigger than the club and if Mbappe doesn’t want to pen a new deal at the French capital, he would be sold this summer.
Nasser Al-Khalaifi said: “It’s for him to decide for himself next week, or at most in the next two weeks. And if he does not want to sign a new contract, the door is open.
“It’s like that for him and everyone else. Nobody is bigger than the club, no player, not even me. It’s very clear”.
