Odion Ighalo has started enjoying his break from football three days after he played a minor role in Manchester United‘s quest to return to Champions League football.

The 31-year-old Nigerian centre-forward took to his Instagram and Twitter pages on Tuesday to share pictures showing when he was cruising on a boat in an unknown destination.

In two of the pictures, he could be seen wearing a pair of shorts, a black shirt, a black cap and black sunglasses as he chilled like a king on the boat while he enjoyed the bright sunlight. In the other pictures, the Manchester United forward could be seen chilling on the boat but this time around, he was without a shirt.

Odion Ighalo has been a lucky charm to Manchester United since he joined the club in January on loan from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua. Since then, he has managed to make 11 appearances for Manchester United in the Premier League which amounted to 90 minutes altogether. He has failed to score a league goal in the 90 minutes of football.

However, those players like Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and a host of others who were not at the top of their game prior to Odion Ighalo’s arrival at the club suddenly improved their game and began to perform beyond expectation.

The good luck charm from Ighalo and the influence of Bruno Fernandes who also joined the club in January pushed the club from being almost a mid-table team to finish 3rd on the league table.

Though his impact was not felt much in the Premier League, Ighalo gained more attention across the world due to his output on all the games he started for United mainly in the FA Cup and the Europa League.

For instance, in the FA Cup, he made only 3 appearances and scored three goals while in the Europa League, the former Super Eagles of Nigeria forward made only three appearances, scoring two goals and making an assist.

The last time he scored for Manchester United was on March 12 when he started against Austrian club Lask in the Europa League. He scored a goal and made an assist in Manchester United’s 0-5 win away to the Australian club.

Since Ighalo’s loan deal with United will expire on January 30th, he will be available for the Europa League return league against Lask on Wednesday, August 5 at Old Trafford.

If Manchester United scale through the round, Odion Ighalo could have more opportunities to prove himself from August 10 when the concluding rounds of the Europa League will be played across four cities in Germany.
