Noah Gesser: Ajax player died in a car accident

A youth player of Ajax football club, Noah Gesser died of a car crash alongside his elder brother who has not been named.

According to a statement by Ajax, the youngster was involved in a car crash on Friday evening alongside his 18-year-old brother. They both died on the spot.

Reports in Dutch media claimed that the football star who is 16-year-old was in a car with his elder brother which collided with a taxi on the United Nations Road in IJsselstein, Netherlands.

The Dutch youngster who was born on February 27, 2005, has been in Ajax Youth System since July 1, 2018, after securing a free transfer from Alphense Boys. He gained a promotion to the Ajax Under-17 team on July 1, 2021.

In honor of Noah Gesser, Ajax 1 and Young Ajax would observe a minute silence before they kick off their practice match later today, July 31, 2021.

In a statement announcing the demise of Noah Gesser, Ajax wished his loved ones and announced that the flag at the club’s training center, Toekomst, would be flown at half-mast.

A statement from the club read: “Ajax has received the terrible news that Noah Gesser has passed away.

“The 16-year-old youth player died in a car accident with his brother on Friday evening.

“At the practice matches of Ajax 1 and Young Ajax this afternoon, the terrible news will be discussed. A minute of silence is held before the matches start and the Ajax players wear mourning bands. In addition, flags will be flown at half-mast at the Toekomst sports complex.

“Ajax is deeply moved by this tragic event. The club wishes the loved ones all the strength in coping with this immeasurable loss.”

Aside from Ajax, Spanish La Liga giants, Real Madrid, have started to sympathize with the family of Noah Gesser. The club’s statement said the Spanish giants deeply lament the passing away of the youngster.

The Spanish club read: “Real Madrid C.F., its president and its Board of Directors deeply lament the passing of Noah Gesser, @AFCAjax’s academy player.

“Real Madrid wishes to express its condolences to his family and loved ones, his teammates, and his club.”
