Neymar Jr. has promised one day he will return to Brazilian club football after making a surprise appearance at his boyhood club Santos in Brazil.

In 2009, at the tender age of 17, the Brazilian trickster made his international debut with Santos and soon established himself as one of Brazil’s most promising young players.

After dazzling Barcelona with his amazing skill, the winger began his meteoric journey to the top of world football.

He was signed by Barcelona in 2013 and has since had a fruitful career alongside Lionel Messi and several others at Camp Nou.

In 2017, Neymar moved to Ligue 1 when PSG paid a world record transfer fee worth €222 million to acquire his services.

Earlier that year, rumors surfaced in France suggesting that Neymar intends to remain in Paris for the foreseeable future. But who will be able to invest in him when his contract with PSG expires?

Despite being sidelined by a knee injury, Neymar was in the stand in Santos’ Copa Sudamericana match against Audax Italiano.

Speaking after the match that Neymar watched from one of the club’s executive stand, He told reporters that “It’s nice to come back to my home.

“I feel at home here, so happy to be back here after 10 years, Unfortunately, it was a draw, I wanted to win.

“I came here to support Santos and receive the affection of the fans.

“It was the club that gave me everything, that opened doors for me and my family, that revealed me to the world”.

“One day I’ll be back, I’ll be back soon” Neymar clarified as he revealed his intentions to end his career at a club where he kick-started his career in the global spotlight.

The captain of the Brazilian national team spoke with Santos fans as he departed the Urbano Caldeira stadium and hinted at a return.

The 31-year-old was permitted to watch the game from the stands despite still being on the mend from ankle surgery in March.

Neymar’s current PSG contract finishes in 2025, thus he has the option of staying in Paris to see out the remainder of his term before returning to Brazil as a free agent.

While Neymar is out of commission, he has been establishing a reputation for himself in the casino industry. In one recent hour-long gaming session, which was streamed publicly, he lost a whopping £900,000.

    What’s next for Neymar?

Even though Neymar’s future in France has been called into question, he is still under contract with PSG until 2025 and, when he recovers from injury, he will continue to link up alongside superstars like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
