Reports have it that Neymar intends to remain at Les Parisiens for the time being, despite the rumour that the club wants to sell him.

Rumors of the 31-year-old’s Brazilian attacker’s exit from the Parisians grew following their 1-0 home defeat against Bayern Munich from the Champions League at the round-of-16 stage, with the PSG star said to be increasingly unhappy with his situation at the club.

Meanwhile, it is not the first time that reports of his exit from PSG sprouted as the club had lately put Neymar up for sale.

Earlier, there was speculation over the Brazilian’s departure from the French club with Newcastle showing interest in him, but Neymar refused to leave.

According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain is willing to let the 31-year-old leave in June 2023 and then use the money they will save from Neymar’s salary to continue paying Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

According to Sports, the Ligue1 giants were willing to let Neymar leave for 100 million euros.

Neymar Jr has contributed 14 goals and 12 assists for the Les Parisiens so far this season. The former FC Barcelona star was one of the best players at the club in the first half of the season.

However, according to reports of L’Equipe, PSG have agreed to extend Neymar’s stay in the French capital, with his current deal running until 2025 following his intention to stay.

The 31-year-old, who held a wild bash and steered up contention with his neighbors has also drawn the resentment of fans for taking part in late-evening poker tournaments and going to a McDonald’s few hours after PSG’s Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

In order to douse any rising fire in the club, PSG boss Christophe Galtier has explained that the Brazilian player was well within his rights to play poker on his day off, and also backed Mbappe for his rational admonition.

Neymar’s retention at the French club was said to have been a key priority for PSG amidst the growing likelihood of Kylian Mbappe’s departure, with the 2022 world cup golden boot winner earlier set to exit the club for free before his contract was renewed in May 2022.

Neymar’s performance so far at PSG has taken his tally to 119 goals in 185 appearances since making the £200m switch to PSG from Barcelona in 2017.
