Former Barcelona superstar Neymar has made a significant investment in Miami, purchasing a waterfront property for $26 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The high-profile purchase has sparked speculation about Neymar’s potential move to Inter Miami, where he could reunite with fellow soccer legend Lionel Messi.
The luxurious property, located in the exclusive Bal Harbour neighborhood, spans approximately 0.63 acres with 150 feet of frontage on the Intracoastal Waterway.
The vacant lot comes with approved plans for a 13,000-square-foot house designed by London-based firm Elicyon. Neymar secured the property for $1.5 million less than its most recent listing price of $28.5 million.
According to reports, the owner of the land is Bent Philipson who is the founder of Philosophy Care, a consulting firm for skilled-nursing facilities.
Is Neymar Joining Inter Miami?
Speculation grows as Neymar’s recent property purchase hints at potential reunion with eight time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
Last year, Messi purchased a luxurious waterfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale for $10.75 million.
Located in the exclusive Bay Colony gated community, the estate boasts 10 bedrooms, nine-and-a-half bathrooms, a pool, three-car garage, and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows.
Joining Inter Miami in the same year, Messi has already reunited with former Barcelona teammates Suarez, Alba, and Busquets.
Neymar, who has been linked to the club, was part of the iconic ‘MSN’ trio at Barcelona alongside Messi and Suarez, achieving numerous titles together.
And according to reports, Inter Miami looks to reunite Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez with their old teammate, Neymar Jr. whose contract with Al-Hilal will end at the end of the season.
Neymar Returns to Action with Al-Hilal Following Lengthy Injury Layoff
Brazilian football star Neymar has finally returned to action with Al-Hilal after a challenging spell on the sidelines due to a serious knee injury.
Since his transfer from PSG in a blockbuster deal last August, Neymar has only managed to make six appearances for the Saudi club.
However, Neymar’s future at Al-Hilal remains uncertain as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
The decision to sell him from PSG was influenced by a series of injuries he suffered, leading to a record-breaking transfer fee of €90 million.
Reports suggest that Neymar is currently earning a staggering €150 million a year at Al-Hilal, a significant increase from his earnings at PSG.
In the event that Neymar does depart, Al-Hilal have been linked with a potential move for Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, with talks of a record-breaking transfer in the works.
What’s next for Neymar and Al-Hilal?
It remains to be seen if there would be a move for the Brazilian star Neymar to inter Miami to reunite with fellow ex- Barcelona stars Lionel Messi and Suarez due to his injury history.
Al-Hilal and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr will go head to head in the Saudi Pro League today, November 1st at Al-Awwal Park with kickoff set at 19:00 GMT.
