Barcelona legend and Al-Hilal forward Neymar jr has broken his silence on his possible return to Santos after his spell in Saudi Arabia.
The Barcelona legend and former PSG forward sparked speculations on his possible return to Santos when he said, he would return one day to the club where his heroic career journey in the round leather game started.
”I feel at home here, so happy to be back here after 10 years. Unfortunately, it was a draw, I wanted the win.
”I came here to support Santos and receive the affection of the fans,’ he added.
”It was the club that gave me everything, that opened doors for me and my family, that revealed me to the world,’ said Neymar.
“One day I’ll be back. I’ll be back soon,’ Neymar explained as he revealed his intentions to begin at the place that kick-started his career on the global stage,” he added.
After the rave and enthusiastic take on his possible return to Santos, it appears the Al-Hilal forward has rescinded his initial promise.
In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, the Brazil international quashed rumors he is returning to the club this summer. He however refused to rule out not returning to the club someday.
“No chance. It’s a bullshit, I have one more year on my contract with Al Hilal”.
“I support Santos, I hope to go back one day but now full focus on Al Hilal,” he said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
💙🇸🇦 “I hope to have a great season after the injury”, told ESPN.
Neymar has since played only two matches for Al-Hilal since joining the club. He was grounded with an ACL injury while on international duty for Brazil’s national team and was ruled out of the just-concluded 2023-24 Saudi Pro League campaign. He has a year left on his Al-Hilal and is recovering fast to return to the pitch next season with the Saudi Pro League champions.
