The Signal Iduna Park was the venue for the pulsating UEFA Champions League Group F affair involving Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United.
It was an exciting evening for the home side, as they secured a remarkable victory over Eddie Howe’s side.
Borussia Dortmund saw the majority of the chances in the first 45 fall to them, and they scored from one in the opening half of the game.
Meanwhile, Luis Hall received the first booking of the game for a foul on Niclas Fullkrug in the 10th minute.
Edin Terzic’s side recorded a massive chance in the 16th minute, with Marcel Sabitzer distributing the ball to Karim Adeyemi inside the area.

The biggest chance in the first 45 that came Newcastle’s way was seen by Joelinton in the 45th minute.
It was from a corner delivered by Kieran Trippier, with Jamaal Lascelles getting a free head at the far post.
The ball traveled up and Joelinton made an attempt to direct his head at it, but his effort was tame and Gregor Kobel was left with little to do in gathering it.
Newcastle United made substitutions ahead of the restart of action in the second half, with Miguel Almiron coming on for Lewis Hall and Anthony Gordon also replacing Callum Wilson.

3 minutes into the second 45, the Magpies saw a big chance with Tino Livramento intending to set up Gordon, however, Kobel stuck out his boot to change the direction of the ball, leaving Niklas Sule to do the mop-up.
In the 56th minute, Joelinton had a glorious chance, with Livramento also being the orchestrator, however, after battling off pressure from Salih Ozcan he could direct his header at goal.
Borussia Dortmund doubled their advantage in the 79th minute, with Julian Brandt scoring following a rapid transition of the ball, with Karim Adeyemi making the assist for the goal.
Both clubs also made substitutions 2 minutes later, with Edin Terzic bringing on Marco Reus for Karim Adeyemi and Newcastle United introducing Lewis Miley for Joseph Willock.
The Black and Yellows made their last and final substitution in the 87th minute, with Youssouffa Moukoko coming on for Niclas Fullkrug.
3 minutes were added as additional time in the second half, and Eddie Howe’s side had the opportunity to halve the deficit.
However, Tino Livramento’s impressive effort 1 minute into additional time was well-read and tipped over the bar by goalkeeper Kobel.
Borussia Dortmund moved to the summit of Group F, following the victory, with Newcastle United slumping to 3rd on the log and in danger of crashing out of the competition.
