Newcastle United are desperately in need of new faces at the club, hence, the Premier League club can not wait for the forthcoming January transfer window to open.

Recall that Newcastle United have new owners since November 2021 who are reportedly worth over £300 billion. Even though the club have new owners and a new coach, Eddie Howe, Newcastle are still battling relegation.

They have managed to win a game, draw 7 games, and recorded 8 defeats in 16 games which have forced them to the 19th spot on the league table with 10 points, equal points with bottom-placed Norwich City.

Hence, the coming January transfer window is the first opportunity the club’s new owners have to invest in the club’s squad.

To effectively invest in the club, the Premier League side have lined up a couple of players they intend to sign in the transfer window, top on their list is Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier.

    Kieran Trippier.

The contract between Kieran Trippier and the Spanish club will expire on June 30, 2023, but the defender is reportedly ready to return to the Premier League.

Recall that Trippier joined Atletico Madrid on July 17, 2019, after the Spanish La Liga club paid Tottenham Hotspur €22 million.

Last summer, Manchester United reportedly offered the Spanish club €14 million for the services of the 31-year-old right-back but Atletico Madrid turned down the offer.

The England international who is currently suffering a shoulder injury has played 15 times in all competitions so far this season.

Below are other players Newcastle United are reportedly interested in ahead of the January transfer window:

Reports in England claimed that Newcastle United are determined to acquire the services of Burnley forward James Tarkowski. The contract of the 29-year-old forward will expire on June 30, 2022, but Newcastle might not have to wait until then before they try to lure him to the club.

FC Barcelona forward, Ousmane Dembélé has not been having the best of time in Spain due to injury issues. The club is reportedly willing to let him go most especially because of his huge wages.

Hence, Newcastle United are reportedly willing to offer the French forward a whopping €15 million per year if he agrees to switch to the club. The Premier League club are willing to sign a pre-contract with the player this January.

    1. Franck Kessie

Dele Alli looks like a player that might leave Tottenham Hotspur next year since he has not been able to play regularly for the Premier League side.

Hence, the English midfielder has joined the list of players that might end up at Newcastle United in 2022.

    1. Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial has found it difficult to play regularly at Manchester United and that might affect his international career. Hence, the Frenchman might exit the club this summer.

Reports claimed that the 26-year-old striker might head to Newcastle United if the player is willing to make the switch in January or next summer.

    1. Joao Felix
    Joao Felix.

Joao Felix is reportedly linked with a move to Newcastle United but it might be impossible for the 22-year-old forward to leave Atletico Madrid to the Premier League club that might be relegated at the end of this season.

    1. Aaron Ramsey

Newcastle United are willing to bring Aaron Ramsey to the Premier League club this summer. But the 30-year-old Juventus midfielder is reportedly asking the Premier League club to insert a relegation clause to the potential contract which would permit him to walk away if the club is relegated.
