New York Revolution have completed the signing of midfielder Alhassan Yusuf from Royal Antwerp for a fee of €2.3 million.

Yusuf becomes New York Revolution’s 4th signing this summer, having already secured the services of Luca Langoni, Will Sands, and Tim Parker.

The Nigerian international has signed a deal with the Major League Soccer side, which runs until 2027, with a club option for the 2028 season.

The Revs confirmed the signing of Alhassan Yusuf via a statement shared on their website which read:

“The New England Revolution have acquired Nigerian central midfielder Alhassan Yusuf (pronounced ALL-hass-SAHN YOO-suff) from Belgian club Royal Antwerp FC for an undisclosed fee and signed the 24-year-old using the season ending injury replacement mechanism.”

Yusuf joined Royal Antwerp from Swedish side IFK Göteborg in July 2021, for a fee of €1 million.

Alhassan Yusuf made 116 appearances for Royal Antwerp, scoring 4 goals and providing 7 assists across all competitions.

New England Revolution currently occupy the bottom position in the Eastern Conference (15), having amassed just 23 points from 23 matches.

They will be hoping that the additions made this summer can help improve their form in the ongoing 2024/25 season.

The Revs will be banking on Yusuf to assist in offering them stability and solidity in the midfield department.
