Former Cardiff and QPR manager Neil Warnock has delivered a brutal assessment of Erik ten Hag’s second season at Manchester United.

In an explosive interview on talkSPORT, Neil Warnock knocked Erik ten Hag due to his recent performance at the club. The English gaffer blasted Erik ten Hag’s humongous spending on new signings that has not yielded result

He added the Dutch is more likely to be sacked soon if his subpar delivery with the club continues.

“The money that he’s spent, people forget. Whatever you think about the owners they’ve spent some massive money.

‘I thought when he first came over he was going to be the answer because I thought it needed a disciplinarian in that environment, but I’ve got to say I’ve not enjoyed watching how he’s gone about it,” Warnock said on talkSPORT.

Under the watch of Erik ten Hag, Manchester United have splashed over £400m on new signings since last summer.

This summer alone, ten Hag has spent £177million on Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir and all these players seemed to have failed to live up to the billing

Asked whether Ten Hag will last at the club, he added: ‘I don’t think he will personally. I’m not sure he wants to last either. I think he knows he’s banging his head against a brick wall

‘Some of the players, they’ve spent £60-70million. I wouldn’t have had them with me at Huddersfield.’

Neil Warnock made the brutal assessment of ten Hag after Manchester United recorded their 7th defeat this term with a home defeat to cross-city rivals Manchester City.

It appears the former Huddersfield manager was spot on on ten Hag’s clueless nomenclature at United this season as they subsequently fell again at Old Trafford to Newcastle United with another 3-0 defeat in EFL Cup – a trophy they won last season beating same opponent at Wembley.
