Al-Nassr forward and iconic footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, laughed off Arsenal’s chances of winning their 2023/24 Premier League title.
Speaking on Saturday night in Riyadh, a night before the Premier League final matchday on Sunday, May 19, Ronaldo collapsed into heavy laughter talking about Arsenal’s title chances.
In a casual conversation with renowned Arsenal fan and journalist Frank Warren, the footballing sensation said;
”You’re not going to win the league, oh God,” and then burst into laughter.
Warren then joked, asking the Man United legend to come to Arsenal – a plea Ronaldo turned down as a joke.
Ronaldo’s sublime conversation and banter with Warren has since hit the waves, making the headlines.
Ronaldo’s verdict is not a departure from dominant opinions from pundits and English football fans, who believe Arsenal have been capitulated in the title race despite fighting till the day of reckoning.
Manchester City are two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table but could be pipped to the title if they drop points against West Ham United while Arsenal see off Everton.
Meanwhile, Manchester City will become the first Premier League club to win the Premier League four times on the bounce if they add the 2023/24 Premier League trophy to their collection.
Conversely, Arsenal are in search of their first Premier League title in 20 years. The Gunners last won the competition in the 2003/04 season during the time of their legendary and longest-serving manager Arsene Wenger.
The North London outfit, who have improved immensely this season, suffered a heavy blow in the title race when they suffered a shock home defeat to their former manager Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
The loss put contenders Man City in control of proceedings, and the Manchester club have aced all their fixtures since then to maintain their grip on the title race.
