Now, Alhaji Grusah, a Ghanaian football executive, claims that the Southampton star has advised him to stay out of his business.
Grusah told Atinka FM that “The Black Stars Chairman tasked me to speak to Salisu because he’s from Kumasi. I called his father, and he put me in touch with him.
“Salisu flatly told me to stay away from his matter. He asked if I would urge him to play for Ghana if he were my son.
He promised he would never call the player again about the incident, adding that he has no idea what the 22-year-issue old’s with the Ghana FA is.
Grusah said that the GFA had explored different methods to recruit the player to play for his country, but he appears uninterested in representing the West African giants.
Ghana was eliminated in the group stage of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, and their next match is a World Cup qualification playoff against Nigeria.
Salisu, 22, has made 21 Premier League appearances for Southampton so far this season.
