Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah caused a stir during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham in the Premier League at the weekend.
The 32-year-old clashed with his manager Jurgen Klopp after he was about to be subbed on in the game for Luis Diaz.
In a visibly boiling and infamous scene at the London Stadium, Salah remonstrated aggressively towards Klopp and was restrained by his teammate Darwin Nunez.
Meanwhile, Klopp, who was beginning to step back following the fallout, could be seen still bickering in disapproval of the players’ attitude.
After countless speculations on what would have left to the duo on their nerves, close sources reveal Salah’s refusal to shake Jurgen Klopp because of his reduced minutes with the club caused the stir.
The Egyptian forward was still blazing with fury after his 11-minute shift in the game. He briskly walked straight into the tunnel, ignoring the manager.
Jurgen Klopp played down the incident during in post match press conference, revealing he has spoken to the player after the game.
However, Salah’s post-match response to a reporter about the incident was terrific. The Liverpool legend refused to speak when propped but dropped a seven-word bombshell which reads, “If I speak today, there will be fire.”
While the row could be inextricably linked to Liverpool’s recent misfortunes coupled Salah’s slack in form and cameos off the bench, speculations was already rife on the Egyptian’s Liverpool future.
Now, according to The Athletic, Liverpool chiefs still consider Salah integral to the squad and are expecting him to continue with the team next season.
This means the prolific forward will run out the remaining 12 months of his contract but it is still unclear whether he will renew terms before the expiration of the contract.
Despite a recent dip in form, the Saudi target is Liverpool’s top scorer this season in the Premier League with 17 goals and 9 assists in 29 games
