Mikel Arteta has been boss of Arsenal since 2019, as aforementioned, and he has guided the team to second-place finishes in the last two Premier League campaigns.

The Gunners ended the 2023/24 season two points behind the Cityzens, officially losing the title on the final day of the campaign.

Why Are Arsenal Sticking With Mikel Arteta?

Arsenal want to continue with Arteta, as they believe in continuity and they feel he will be the best man to lead them to the league title, having been very close in the last two seasons.

Arsenal In The 2024/25 Premier League Season

Following three games this campaign, Arsenal occupy the 4th spot on the league table, having won their first two matches against Wolves and Aston Villa before being held to a draw by Brighton.

They trade tackles with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City on September 15 and 22, respectively, and many purists have indicated that their chances of winning the title hinge on their results in those two matches.

Going into the 2024/25 campaign, many football enthusiasts considered Arsenal amongst favorites for the Premier League title, but many are beginning to shift their ground.

This is due to injury issues that are bedeviling the team, with players like captain Martin Odegaard, alongside summer signings Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino, ruled out of action for the coming weeks.

Despite this reality, some fans feel that there is no excuse for the Gunners not to deliver this season.

These football aficionados cited champions Manchester City, who also suffered injury issues last term but still managed to clinch the Premier League title.
