Takefusa Kubo, commonly known as Take Kubo, is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a right winger for La Liga club Real Sociedad and the Japan national team.

Kubo was born in Kawasaki, Japan. He started playing football at the age of three and joined FC Persimmon at the age of six. In 2011, he joined FC Barcelona’s La Masia academy. He was nicknamed “the Japanese Messi” due to his playing style and diminutive stature.

Kubo left Barcelona in 2015 to join FC Tokyo due to FIFA regulations on the transfer of underage players. He made his professional debut for FC Tokyo on 10 May 2017, at the age of 15 years and 11 months, becoming the youngest player to appear in the J1 League.

In 2019, Kubo joined Real Madrid. He was loaned out to Mallorca for the 2019–20 season, where he made 35 appearances and scored four goals. He was loaned out to Villarreal for the 2020–21 season, where he made 30 appearances and scored four goals.

In 2021, Kubo was loaned out to Getafe for the 2021–22 season, where he made 32 appearances and scored one goal. In 2022, he was sold to Real Sociedad.

Kubo has represented Japan at all youth levels. He made his senior international debut on 9 June 2019, in a Copa América match against El Salvador. He has since made 20 appearances for Japan and scored one goal.

Kubo is considered to be one of the most promising young players in the world. He is known for his dribbling skills, vision, and passing ability. He is also a versatile player who can play on either wing or as a central attacking midfielder.
