    Managerial Style and Achievement

The Argentine veteran football coach, Pochettino is hailed by many pundits for his guidance and distinctive leadership technique as well as his willingness to promote young players.

He is praised for his focus on developing local players from clubs’ youth academies, getting local government and references’ support to make these players’ performance at top levels a dream come true.

Footballers coached by Pochettino also praised his man-management strategy and guidance with his willingness to advise, motivate his players to take charge of their development and also help them to improve physically, technically, and mentally.

The 51-year-old Argentine manager favors a very high-pressing, attacking style of football.

Pochettino often employs a 4–2–3–1 formation at the clubs he manages, performing wonderfully well and winning trophies with this strategy.

With Tottenham Hotspur, he guided them to the Football League Cup runner-up in 2014–15 and UEFA Champions League runner-up in the 2018/19 season.

Pochettino also did well while managing Ligue1 club Paris Saint-Germain.

He won the Trophée des Champions in 2020, Coupe de France in the 2020/21 season, and Ligue 1 2021/22 season for PSG.

Pochettino was honored as the Premier League Manager in October 2013, September 2015, February 2016, and April 2017.

He also bagged the London Football Awards Manager of the Year in 2018–19.

The 51-year-old Argentine coach, Pochettino has been out of a job since leaving PSG on the 5th of July 2022.

However, Chelsea is eyeing up potential replacements for Graham Potter and they have reportedly made contact with the former PSG manager who could prove to be a quality acquisition.

Graham Potter’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge is under serious threat following a poor run of results.

The former Brighton manager has been backed heavily with massive signings in the transfer market but Chelsea still find themselves 10th in the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, a club of their stature is expected to contend for the major trophies but it seems difficult for Potter to help The Blues achieve this.

Chelsea will be expected to secure European football for the next season and missing out on Champions League qualification would come as a major setback for the blue outfit.

It remains to be seen whether Mauricio Pochettino is keen on replacing Potter and taking over at Stamford Bridge in the summer among other interests.

With the level of expertise that he has shown with Southampton, Tottenham, and PSG in the past, managing a big club like Chelsea wouldn’t be a weird task for him and he could prove to be an attractive replacement for the unproductive Graham Potter.
