Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to become the new manager of the United States Men’s National Team ahead of the match against Canada on September 7, 2024.

It was revealed that Pochettino has agreed personal terms with the United States Soccer Association.

The appointment of Pochettino by the United States of America soccer federation showed an increase in the ambitions of the country towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 

Pochettino completed the 2023-24 season at Chelsea. The club hierarchy sacked Pochettino after he publicly criticized the club’s policy in terms of recruiting new players. 

Different sources informed ESPN that the Pochettino situation at Chelsea is currently unsolved, even though he was sacked by the club last season. 

Chelsea haven’t paid the Argentine manager, Mauricio Pochettino some outstanding. Mauricio Pochettino won’t sign a contract with another football team if Chelsea doesn’t fulfill their obligations.

Even though he failed to deliver a single trophy for Chelsea last season, Pochettino took the West London club from 12th place to 6th place on the Premier League table.

Towards the end of the season, Chelsea won 14 matches and lost one in 15 matches. The highly rated manager could be the answer to the struggling United States of America performance at all levels.

The fans have been demanding a manager who is capable of coaching the national team to a trophy win. Pochettino has an opportunity to manage the golden generation of American national team.
