United on the other hand are in support of the player as he trains individually and could make a decision over his future before Erik ten Hag’s players start reporting for pre-season on July 3.

Once the internal investigation is completed, United will speak to stakeholders to reveal their opinion on the decision made.

These include commercial partners, supporters, and members of United’s WSL squad, to ensure the decision is met with the approval of all stakeholders.

Mason Greenwood was recently included in the Red Devil’s retainment list and is a confirmation of his status with his boyhood club.

Greenwood has bagged 22 goals in 83 Premier League appearances for United since making his debut in March 2019.
