Mason Greenwood Granted Bail Again After a Private Hearing

Manchester United star Mason Greenwood has been granted bail again after a private hearing. This came after a Chester Court sitting on Monday 17th, October 2022, denied the 21-year-old bail and ordered him to remain in custody.

Reports reaching us have confirmed that the Premier League and Manchester United footballer has been released from custody after his bail application was granted.

Mason Greenwood is facing charges of attempted rape, assault, controlling and coercive behaviour against Harriet Robson, his then girlfriend.

Greenwood appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 17th October, and was ordered to be remanded in custody after a hearing.

According to reports, a bail application was held in private at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court on Wednesday, October over his bail application.

After the hearing, a spokesman for the court confirmed that the bail application has been granted.

However, there are conditions which the youngster must not violate to retain his bail.

He is not expected to contact the alleged victim, including witnesses, and he must reside at an address on Bow Green Road in Bowdon.

Meanwhile, the Man United forward was reportedly absent from the short hearing and will be expected to appear in court again on November 21, 2022.

Greenwood was first arrested in January 2022 when videos and images of him assaulting his girlfriend surfaced online.

However, he was granted bail after the first arrest on January, but was rearrested on Saturday 15th October, 2022 in his £15,000 monthly rated apartment.

The arrest was ordered following information that he had allegedly breached his bail condition by making contact with the alleged victim, Robson

According to reports, Greenwood’s alleged coercive and controlling behavior took place between November 2018 and October 2022.

Mason Greenwood allegedly made threatening and derogatory comments toward the complainant and accessed and monitored her social media accounts.

The assault charge which led to the injury of the victim is dated December 2021.

Mason Greenwood was suspended from the Manchester United squad after the allegations and investigations into the incident began.

He also lost Nike’s sponsorship, while electronics arts removed him from active squads in the new FIFA 22 game.

According to reports, some of his Manchester United teammates have unfollowed him on social media since the incident went viral.

Mason Greenwood last played for Manchester United in the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over West Ham United in January 2022.

He became the youngest Manchester United player to play in the Champions League after making his debut in 2019 at the age of 17.

After being granted a first bail after his arrest in January, there were rumors of his imminent return to Old Trafford.

He was still listed on the club’s website sparking rumors of his return. However, the Red Devils debunked the reports, stating categorically that Greenwood still remains suspended from the squad pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

Mason Greenwood joined Manchester United at the age of six and has since worked his way up into a regular first-team player before the incident.

Despite undergoing investigation, Greenwood is till receiving his £75,000 weekly wage.

If cleared of all the charges against him, Greenwood will return to his football career with Man United.

If he is convicted, he may likely face sentences ranging from fines to life imprisonment.
