Columbus Crew winger Marino Hinestroza has completed a loan move from the MLS club to Colombian side Atletico Nacional.
It was reported a few weeks ago that Columbus was actively negotiating with Atletico Nacional to allow Hinestroza play for the Colombian side until June 30, 2025.
The deal includes a purchase option for Atletico Nacional, which allows the Colombian club to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of his loan deal, given that he performs beyond expectations.
The Colombian winger joined the Columbus Crew in the 2023–24 season and was earning $500,000 in yearly income. Before moving to MLS club, Hinestroza was playing for CF Pachua.
Since he moved to Columbus Crew, the winger has failed to make a significant impact on the squad. Hinestroza failed to break into the starting XI.
He ended the 2023–24 season with two goals in 16 matches for the Columbus Crew side.
