The 24-year-old had a difficult season in which he only started 13 Premier League games, and as a result, he was dropped from Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Following Ten Hag’s move to Manchester a few weeks ago, the Dutchman met with Rashford to discuss the future, and insiders have told 90min that both sides expressed a willingness to continue working together.

Marcus Rashford wants to stay at Old Trafford to prove himself, and Ten Hag is looking forward to working with him to help him achieve his goals.

Steve McClaren, Ten Hag’s assistant, is a huge fan of Rashford and is desperate to help the Englishman get back in form for both club and country, a wish shared by Ten Hag.

We understand that Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle, and West Ham have all expressed interest in Rashford, while Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain have also expressed an interest, but neither United nor Rashford have responded to any of the attempts.

Rashford’s summer exit has been ruled out due to a shared desire to make his time at United a success.

However, the same cannot be said about Anthony Martial, with reports claiming that both United and the Frenchman have agreed that a permanent exit from Old Trafford is in everyone’s best interests.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag appears to have already made up his mind about Marcus Rashford’s future role, as the club’s transfer priority has now been revealed.

United are planning to bring in a number of new faces to Old Trafford this summer after a disappointing season under Ralf Rangnick, according to The Athletic. It’s been reported that they started talks with Benfica’s Darwin Nunez a few weeks ago.

However, despite Liverpool’s interest, it has been revealed that they have taken a step back in their pursuit of the Uruguayan, preferring to focus on bringing in midfield recruits in the wake of the departures of Paul Pogba and Juan Mata, with Nemanja Matic also expected to leave Old Trafford in the coming window.

With the Red Devils poised to pool their resources to bring in a new midfielder – Ruben Neves and Youri Tielemans have already been linked – it’s possible that Rashford’s future role in ten Hag’s plans will be revealed.

Currently, the England man is one of only a few choices capable of playing centrally in attack, and the Manchester Evening News reports that he could be tested in that position in the coming season.
