West Ham United attacking midfielder, Manuel Lanzini was involved in a car accident on Thursday, March 31, 2022, on his way to the club’s training camp, Rush Green.
Manuel Lanzini who has been on international duty with Argentina’s national team for almost two weeks ago returned to England after Argentina drew 1-1 with Ecuador on Wednesday, March 30.
Lanzini was an unused substitute in the inconsequential FIFA World Cup qualification games against Venezuela on March 26 which ended 3-0 in favor of Argentina and the one against Ecuador on Wednesday. Hence, he had to rush back to reunite with his immediate family and his club ahead of the upcoming weekend’s fixture.
Unfortunately, the chauffeur-driven vehicle that was conveying the 29-year-old attacking midfielder left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
Lanzini was not physically hurt in the accident, hence, he was not taken to the hospital for medical attention. But when he arrived at the club’s training ground, the club’s medical team examined him and confirmed that he was unharmed following the crash.
A statement from the police read: “Officers attended and it was reported that a car had left the westbound carriageway before colliding with a tree.”
Also, the footballer took to his verified Instagram page to confirm that he was fine after the accident which he described as a “big scare”.
Lanzini wrote: “Hello people, I wanted to thank everyone for the messages of support and affection on this day, they did me a lot of good since it was a very big scare, but thank God, as far as the accident was, everything went well. Thank you very much”.
All things being equal, Lanzini could be available for coach David Moyes of West Ham United ahead of the club’s Premier League game against Everton on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
