Manchester United might not have made so many headlines like Mikel Arteta led Arsenal, but have achieved beyond expectation this season.
United on the other hand, hired Dutchman Erik Ten Hag to manage the team and he has shown a bit of experience in this period.
Though it might be viewed as a successful season for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandez has refused to tag it a successful one.
The United Midfielder claims that the season is far from successful despite United winning a trophy and securing a return to the Champions League.
“It’s a positive season, not successful because success is different for this club, and for us players it has to be too,” the Portuguese said.
“We did win a trophy. We got into the top four. Now we have another final but whatever happened in that final will not change anything about the season we have done,” Fernandez concluded.
United under manager Erik Ten Hag has won the Carabao Cup in his first season at Old Trafford and might add the FA Cup if he beat Manchester City at Wembley in June.
It has been a decade since United last won the Premier League title and has also failed to go past the Champions League quarter-finals.
While the Red Devils have not returned to their old glory during the times of Sir Alex Ferguson, in comparison to Arsenal this season, they are most successful.
Manchester United are currently 17 points behind Champions City albeit a game in hand and the Dutch coach said his team have a lot of catching up to do.
No one would have thought that United would qualify for the Champions Lague spot ahead of next season after losing their first two games under Ten Hag to Brighton and Brentford.
Their woes worsened when they were humiliated by struggling Liverpool who thrashed them 7-0 at Anfield.
