Futballnews understands Erik ten Hag has been under pressure especially from Manchester United fans with some fans calling for him to be sacked.

Calls for the club to relief the Dutch of his job hit the waves after Manchester United slumped to EFL Cup defeat to Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

It was the first time Manchester United have suffered back-to-back defeat at Old Trafford with a shameful score margin of three goals and above since 193-32 season.

The defeat also made it United’s worst start to a season with five home defeats in 11 games since 1962.

Erik ten Hag admitted after the loss that ‘Manchester United is in a bad place’ but pledged his resolve to fight and roll back the dwindling fortunes.

Meanwhile, he has the impatience of Manchester United fans to deal with as the ignominious statistics continue to mount.

Premier League pundit and Manchester United legend Gary Neville has delivered a brutal assessment of Erik ten Hag with a gloomy verdict on his chances at the club amid the poor run of results.

Neville put it clear Erik ten Hag will not last at Manchester United and will soon be sacked if United’s underwhelming start to the campaign continues.

As things stand, ten Hag will be coming under intense pressure as United travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham in the Premier League. The Dutch will hope to return the team to winning ways against the London club.
