English Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly gotten a double transfer boost as Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have discussed with their players Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay about their futures.
This is coming a few weeks after Frenkie de Jong called out his club Barça on social media over the way they are treating his transfer.
According to Frenkie de Jong, no talks were held and Barcelona went ahead to reach an agreement to sell him to Manchester United this summer. Man United has agreed to sign Frenkie de Jong for £56.2 million and the club will continue pushing to secure his services even though the transfer talks have lingered for two months.
The Red Devils are confident that the former Ajax player will switch to Old Trafford to reunite with his former manager Erik ten Hag.
However, multiple sources have reported that the deal is yet to be completed because of the outstanding payments owed to him by Barça. But both Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay are expected to leave Camp Nou this summer.
For the case of Frenkie de Jong selling him this summer will generate a lot of funds for the Spanish giants while Memphis Depay has failed to live up to expectations and secure a spot in the starting XI.
Memphis Depay who is a former Manchester United player scored only 13 goals in his first season at Barcelona after he joined them last season on a free transfer from Lyon.
Xavi will have a meeting with Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay to define their future.

However, Barcelona has secured the services of other forwards like Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski. These options will definitely reduce his playing time and Ansu Fati is also back from a long-term injury layoff.
The two players will now have personal conversations with Barca manager Xavi Hernandez during their preseason tour of the United States, during which he will inform them of the club’s plans to transfer them both this summer, quickening their departures. Memphis doesn’t make a lot of money, but Barca has an unbalanced squad and does not want a player to play there if he won’t be given consistent first-team minutes.
According to reports, De Jong has reportedly cleaned out his locker at Barcelona in anticipation of a move to Old Trafford. De Jong was trained by new United manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax, and the two spoke on the phone to persuade the youngster to join his team at Old Trafford.
De Jong, 25, was told that he would be Ten Hag’s uncontested starter and the “conductor of the orchestra”—a position that was quite similar to the one he had so much fun in Amsterdam. He is still reportedly open to moving to Old Trafford this summer.
