Manchester United have finally released the special No.7s documentary featuring top stars that have put on the iconic shirt number at the club.

Ronaldo feature in Man United’s No.7s documentary

The documentary, which celebrated top and legendary Manchester United forwards who wore and are wearing the shirt featured Portuguese star and five times Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to reports, the release of the film was delayed last summer due to the uncertainties that surrounded Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club at that time.

Ronaldo was at the center of the transfer speculations and rumors after he asked the club to allow him to leave when offers came for him.

Ronaldo reportedly opted for Old Trafford exit after the team failed to qualify for Champions League finishing in the top six.

The Manchester United star failed to join Manchester United’s preseason and had to struggle to fit into Erik Ten Hag’s starting lineup.

That was the beginning of Cristiano Ronaldo uneasy attempt to make the Red Devils’ starting IX.

With the summer transfer rumors gone, and a bit of normalcy and certainty on Ronaldo’s future restored, Manchester United have now launched the special no7s film.

This has helped the team avoid what would have been a miscalculated blunder that would have caused them a lot.

According to reports, the leaked documentary footage featured Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, and other top forwards of the team.

And on Friday 4 November, United finally released the film in partnership with a global sports and football accessories brand, Adidas.

A press release by the club described the video as a one long form film that celebrates the legendary feats of the team’s forwards, who wore the number 7 jersey.

    The press release reads;

”Bringing together Manchester United’s legendary sevens for a one-off long form film that celebrates their journey with the club, the prestige of the number, and the return of the emblematic home jersey collar for the 22/23 season.”

The 8 minutes video can be watched in full on the Red Devils’ YouTube channel. It features interviews with Beckham, Ronaldo, Cantona, Bryan Robson, United Women, and Lionesses star Ella Toone.

These iconic United forward explained what it is like to be given the No 7 shirt at Old Trafford and relive their favourite moments in their careers.

Ronaldo is a key feature in the video. He describes the No 7 shirt as a ‘mythic number in this club’ while explaining his own story.

Ronaldo said he was very nervous to see Man United’s Old Trafford stadium when he first signed for the Premier League giants.

He also talks about the deep and enduring passion for football by Manchester United fans, something that really surprised him, adding that he will never forget that moment he first featured for the club.

The 37-year-old said despite his nerves, almost freaking out, he was feeling good basking under the mastery and experience of Alex Ferguson.

Ronaldo praised himself saying Alex Ferguson believed in him by allowing him to hold that iconic short number in the team.

Later in the video, he is filmed looking out at the Old Trafford pitch and is asked how he feels reflecting on the time he was offered the shirt.

    ‘Emotional. Very emotional,’ he replied.

The decision to delay the video makes sense given how well and heartfelt Ronaldo speaks about the club.

However, it has been a hailstorm for Ten Hag and Ronaldo since the summer, with the forward infamously storming off before full-time against Tottenham after refusing to come as a late substitute.

There have also been several reports of problems behind the scenes, but after clear-the-air talks with Ten Hag, Ronaldo is back in the team and has started the last three games in all competitions.
