Manchester United players celebrated Casemiro as they posed for a picture after the Brazilian was named among the FIFPRO Best XI this week.

The Red Devils’ first-team squad and manager Erik ten Hag gathered at Carrington to commemorate Casemiro’s FIFPro Best XI award.

The Brazilian Casemiro made the 26-man shortlist earlier this month alongside seven other prolific midfielders.

Casemiro joined his former Madrid team-mate Luka Modric and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne as the midfielders in the FIFPRO Best XI that was announced on Monday, February 27.

Casemiro, Cancelo, De Bruyne, and Haaland were joined in the men’s XI for the year 2022 by Lionel Messi and Mbappe as Real Madrid stopper Thibaut Courtois, Achraf Hakimi, Virgil van Dijk, Luka Modric and Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema completed that line-up.

Manchester City’s De Bruyne was selected for a third straight year as Casemiro followed up the Carabao Cup victory with Manchester United at Wembley by clinching more silverware.

And in celebration of the great accomplishment, Manchester United requested Casemiro to pose with his teammates at Old Trafford while he held the trophy given for being included in the FIFPRO team.

Manchester United captioned the picture posted on the club’s social media with the word “family”.

Before making the move to Old Trafford, the 31-year-old former Real Madrid star had hoisted the Champions League trophy for the fifth time last season, including the La Liga, Supercopa de Espana, and the UEFA Super Cup.

The Brazilian midfielder’s arrival to United near the end of the summer’s transfer window is arguably one of the major reasons Manchester United has been sprinting successfully in every tournament.

Casemiro’s presence has helped United to hold third place in the Premier League Campaign and the Red Devils are now Carabao Cup champions.

Casemiro has since been pivotal to the abrupt resurgence happening at the London club and the Brazilian is one of the main catalysts in the extreme turnaround under the Dutch boss Erik ten Hag.

The 31-year-old former Real Madrid star has made 33 appearances in all competitions for United and has provided the Red Devils a bolster for their midfield that was previously nonexistent.

One of the interesting things about Casemiro’s arrival is that since his Premier League debut against Southampton on August 27, Manchester United have lost just three league games.

And clinching the Carabao Cup is also a resurgence of the Red Devils’ past gleaming glory with the expectation of more trophies to be won under Erik Ten Hag.

    What’s next for Manchester United?

The Red Devils will strive to replicate their Carabao Cup success in the FA Cup when they encounter West Ham United in the competition’s fifth round at Old Trafford on Wednesday, March 1st.
