    Manchester United are reportedly making moves to bring back former goalkeeper David de Gea despite unceremoniously parting ways with the shotstopper in the summer.

    The Spaniard shotstopper left Manchester United after 12 years as he could not reach agreement with the club to renew his contract.

    Cameroon international and former Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana was signed as a replacement for David De Gea.

    Since taking over the no.1 role at Manchester United as new goalkeeper, Andre Onana’s performance has been a cause for concern among United fans save his last-gasp penalty saving heroics against FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.

    David de Gea was spotted reuniting with his former teammate and new Man United captain Bruno Fernandes further fueling speculations he may likely return to the team.

    Now, The Sun claim, Manchester United are ready to resign him on a short-term contract.

    United’s decision to bring back De Gea is not due to Andre Onana’s underwhelming start to life at Old Trafford. The club want him back due to Andre Onana’s imminent absence when he joins Cameroon for AFCON 2023 tournamnent.

    Erik ten Hag is reportedly wary of Andre Onana’s prolonged absence with Altay Bayindir yet to taste Premier League action for Manchester United while Tom Heaton remains injured.

    Since leaving Manchester United in the summer, De Gea is still a free agent and is yet to find a new club.

    Manchester United wanted to renew his contract before his departure but they could not reach an agreement on a new deal after reducing his wage offer twice.
