Manchester City vs Brentford: Ivan Toney sent message to Gareth Southgate by scoring two goals against Manchester City in the Premier League to destroy their hope of returning to the top of the Premier League table.

The striker who was ignored for Callum Wilson in England’s World Cup list was in an impressive form as Manchester City defenders struggled against him.

The English striker scored a beautiful header to put Brentford ahead in the 16th minute of the game.

Brentford were so lucky in the 32nd minute after the ball struck the Brentford defender’s hand from Ikay Gundogan’s corner. VAR made a check, and it was not given as a penalty kick.

Manchester City got three penalties on appeal, but the VAR was not interested in giving the Premier League Champions any chance of getting a penalty.

Manchester City Phil Foden scored an excellent goal, and Brentford’s goalkeeper had no chance to stop the ball from going into the net.

It was a sign of relief from the Manchester City fans, who couldn’t believe Brentford were in front.

In the 57th minute, Manchester City had a penalty appeal after Cancelo went down in the six-yard box, but the referee was not interested in it, and Cancelo was given a yellow card for diving.
