Manchester City superstars Kevin de Bruyne and Ederson, alongside other world-class footballers, were accompanied by their gorgeous partners to the glamorous red carpet at the 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday, October 18.
Pep Guardiola’s exceptional City claimed the Club of the Year award with 99 goals in the Premier League, and City stars appeared elegantly as they posed for pictures with their WAGs – wives or girlfriends in Paris.
Kevin De Bruyne stayed glued with his wife Michele Lacroix, 28, as the couple made their way into the event on Monday night, alongside their children.
The 31-year-old Manchester City midfielder De Bruyne became the first player at the club to be placed among the top three of the men’s Ballon d’Or award, finishing behind winner Karim Benzema and Sadio Mane.
The Belgian midfielder secured a ‘podium finish’ after the voting set over the likes of Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, PSG’s star Kylian Mbappe and former Bayern Munich legend Robert Lewandowski at the award show in Paris.
Meanwhile, Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Santana entered with his wag Lais Moraes, 28, a day after he conceded the only goal against Liverpool in City’s 1-0 defeat on Sunday evening.
Former Bayern Munich and Barcelona new signing Robert Lewandowski was also spotted with his charming wife Anna as the duo flashed a nice smile for the post after Barcelona fell in the hands of Benzema’s Real Madrid in a 3-1 El Clasico defeat on Sunday.
The 34-year-old Lewandowski was defeated in the Ballon d’Or contest but he managed to win the Gerd Muller award which recognizes the Polish striker who netted the most goals with Bayern and the national team during a single season.
The Catalans new signing and Barca’s No.9 occupant Robert Lewandowski recorded his best-ever scoring tally last summer.
The 34-year-old Gerd Muller award winner netted 50 goals for his former team Bayern Munich in all competitions; 35 of which landed in the Bundesliga campaign, 13 goals in the Champions League, and 2 in the DFL-Supercup, including the seven goals he scored with the Polish national team.
Upon joining Barcelona this summer, Lewandowski has since scored 14 goals in just 13 appearances for the Catalans.
In the same vein, the 32-year-old Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, and his famous Brazilian model spouse Izabel Goulart, appeared in their beautiful outfits upon their arrival at the award show.
Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois was not an exception as he arrived with his fiancee Mishel Gerzig.
Courtois received the 2022 Yashin Trophy after he was voted as the finest goalkeeper of the 2021/22 season.
The 30-year-old Belgian goalkeeper vied with other extraordinary goalkeepers like Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Alisson, Ederson, and Jan Oblak but managed to win the award for the best shot-stopper worldwide.
The Real Madrid goalie was the star of the Champions League final against Klopp’s Liverpool, as he managed to paddle his side to victory with some big saves.
However, the man of the day was the Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, who scooped his first-ever Ballon d’Or prize.
The 34-year-old France national football star enjoyed an impressive 2021-22 session at Santiago Bernabeu, netting a stunning 44-goal to help Los Blancos win La Liga and Champions League titles.
Benzema found the target on 27 occasions in the Spanish top flight last season and 15 times in European competition.
