Manchester United fans could be celebrating with the arrival of one of the hottest properties in Europe, as the Red Devils are plotting to sign England international Jordan Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
Earlier in the season, Sancho endured a difficult time and had disciplinary problems in Dortmund. The winger was left out of the squad to play Borussia Monchengladbach in October after returning late from international duty. The club management fined him a week’s wages for contravening the club policy. He was also benched for a Champions League clash against Barcelona last month after turning up late for a team meeting.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc, however, has dismissed rumors of a fractured relationship between Sancho and the German club. According to Zorc, the talented winger was ‘still in the process of growing up’.
Now Sancho has returned to form scoring six goals in his last five games. His impressive performance in Germany has alerted many European clubs especially Man United which could see him return to the Premier League side in January.
To tempt Dortmund to sell Sancho in January, Manchester United will find it very difficult to achieve. This is because the player now has another reason to stay with the Bundesliga club after they qualified for the knock-out phase of the Champions League.
Meanwhile, earlier in the season, Sancho hinted his future could lie away from Dortmund when he spoke about a potential transfer.
“I can’t tell the future,” he told Viasport. “I just take it game by game. I just wanna give 100 percent for Borussia Dortmund.
“I really want to do well with Dortmund. Obviously, I want to win titles and give everything.
“It’s crazy. Everything has come so fast. But I have a great team. They keep me humbled.
