Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has posted a cryptic message on his social media handle after his eye socket injury.
The 29-year-old was subbed off City’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur after he clashed with Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero and sustained a deep cut to his right eye socket.
We reported earlier he has been ruled out of the rest reason as confirmed by Manchester City.
Taking to his social media handle, Ederson pricked fans’ curiosities with an eight-word comment on the injury.
Sharing the footage of the moment of the injury, he wrote, ”No one understands but me. See you soon.”
As of the time of filing this report, no one has deciphered what Ederson meant by the cryptic post. Ederson was apparently furious after the injury before being subbed off.
He has limited comments on the post in a move to curtail queries. While the prolific Brazilian stopper keeps everyone in the dark, it is hoped he will recover soon and return to his game.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed he will miss Manchester City’s remaining two games this season but will be expected to recover and link up with Brazil squad for 2024 Copa America.
City’s second-choice goalkeeper Stefan Ortega is expected to keep the sticks in Ederson’s absence. Ortega will man the sticks as Man City take on West Ham United in a title-deciding final matchday clash on Sunday, May 19.
He will also be on goal on May 23 when City will battle cross-city rivals Manchester United in the 2024 FA Cup final at Wembley.
Prior to his injury, Ederson has been to key to Manchester City’s push for the Premier League title this season. He had made 30 Premier League and 7 Champions League appearances for the club.
