It is a new dawn! A new soccer season is gearing up and getting ready to be etched into the folklore of America’s soccer history and there certainly exist teams that would be ready to fight blood and sweat to be in commanding position by the end of the 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) regular season.

Here, Futballnews will bring you up to speed with the teams to watch out for in the 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) Regular season. The season will kick-off proceedings from the 25th of February, 2023 till the 21st of October, 2023.

Several teams will attempt to jostle and battle in the 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, as that one win after another leads to a great leap for a team eyeing to win the ultimate trophy at the crowning and defining moment.

Let’s dive right straight into the teams which we should be putting our searchlight on for this brand new, fiery, hot, sparkling and scintillating season:

Philadelphia Union

This is a club nicknamed “The U” and they are first on our list of teams to watch out for in the 28th season of the Major League Soccer (MLS). This is a team that made it to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup final but ultimately lost to a team more grounded and more experienced in Los Angeles FC as it was indeed a keenly contested battle which saw both sides put three goals past their opponents goalpost.

However, it wasn’t enough for the Philadelphia Union to lay their hands on a very much coveted Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup as they lost on penalties to the Black and Gold.

Philadelphia Union are a side with considerable quality as they have got a fantastic shot stopper in goal who was picked in the MLS Best XI for the 2022 MLS Regular Season in addition to three other excellent names who held their own in the previous league season.

Goalkeeper: Andre Blake, Defender; Jakob Glesnes and Kai Wagner were picked alongside Midfielder: Daniel Gazda with this vibrant side having the most players making up the MLS XI.

It is expected that they build on what they did in the last regular season and look to better it by possibly even going all the way to El Dorado by winning the Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup.

Los Angeles Galaxy (LA Galaxy)

This is the most successful team in Major League Soccer history and they understand the intricacies needed in going all the way in their quest for success, they have won the Major League Soccer Cup on five different occasions, winning it in style and panache.

However, it’s close to a decade since they last laid their hands on the Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup, but any season could be their season of electricity and spark.

They have got famous Mexican and former Manchester United forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez spearheading their attack and push for the MLS crown alongside former Barcelona man Riqui Puig.

Every of their “I’s” must be dotted and their “T’s” must be crossed for them to get a season that they truly can be proud of and for a club as prestigious as LA Galaxy in the United States Of America, they know they must begin their road to redemption sooner rather than later.

Los Angeles FC (LAFC)

The Black and Gold are obviously a team still basking in the frenzy of winning their first Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup defeating Philadelphia Union in the final, making history in addition to doing what was unprecedented in their young nine year history as a club.

They would definitely be looking towards achieving greatness once again as they did in the 2022 regular season winning the Major League Soccer Cup and also trying to replicate what was last done by fierce city rivals, Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2011 and 2012 Major League Soccer season by winning the Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup in back to back fashion.

They enjoyed the services of the former Real Madrid man, Gareth Bale in the last regular season and the Welshman was also instrumental in their final triumph but they wouldn’t be enjoying that juice anymore as the Welshman has hung up his boots just a few weeks ago but they can rely on the experience of legendary Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini as he cheers them on from the back with the right support alongside a list of other bright burgeoning and already established players.
