Luka Modric may not feature in Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey final and the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City.

Real Madrid confirmed that the midfielder has an issue at “the back of his left thigh”.

Madrid will play the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna on 6 May three days later, they take on Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Modric, “Had an injury in the game at Girona [on Tuesday] and is out of action.”

Luka Modric left the pitch in the 63rd minute in their 4-2 defeat against Girona on Tuesday, 25th April 2023.

Real Madrid will play in the Spanish La Liga against Almeria and Real Sociedad before the Copa del Rey final.

In regards to Modric’s injury, Ancelotti added: “We’re waiting to see how he progresses and I don’t know if he will make the cup final.”

“Let’s hope we have him back for the remaining games, which are important.”
