Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has reportedly turned down a €200 million offer from Al Hilal, opting to continue his career at the Bernabeu.
Modric, who renewed his career barely a month ago to stay with Los Blancos for a further year, is determined to continue his career in Europe, at least for the time being.
The Croatian won’t be joining other Real Madrid greats who currently ply their trade in the Saudi Pro League.
He has rejected a three-year bumper contract worth a staggering €200 million as earlier indicated.
Other Saudi Pro League clubs have also been said to be interested in signing Luka Modric including Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.
The 37-year-old is a darling of Los Blancos supporters and he is obviously a Real Madrid legend.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been one of Real Madrid’s instrumental players across the years.
He joined the Spanish capital based club in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur for a £30 million transfer fee.
Since his move to Madrid, Luka Modric has made 488 appearances for the team, scoring 37 goals and providing 77 assists.

The Croatia senior national team captain is looking to win a first senior International trophy for his country and they have a date with Spain on the 18th of June.
Croatia defeated Ronald’s Koeman Netherland by 4-2 to progress into the Nations League final with Modric getting one of the goals via a penalty.
Ahead of the semi-final encounter against Netherland, the 2018 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball Winner said that he was concentrating on his engagements with Croatia.
He said: “My focus is on the national team. As for Real Madrid, I have already said everything many times, I would not like to repeat it.
“My focus is on the Netherlands, when it’s all over, we’ll be able to talk about that.”

Romelu Lukaku also rejected a deal from Al Hilal due to a disagreement over salary package.
Anyway, the Saudi Pro League giants would continue to ransack Europe in search of high-profile names to add to their squad.
Luka Modric, Romelu Lukaku and Lionel Messi might be out of their reach, however, the market is still open for them to make big name additions like their Pro League rivals.
