Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic has decided to rejoin former club Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.
Jovic had left the Bundesliga club for Real Madrid in a 60m Euro deal.
According to a report from Spain, he might secure a move back to the club or go to AC Milan on loan.
After returning Milan to Europe, coach Stephano Pioli stated during an interview with DAZN earlier in the week said he is well stocked in the attacking department. This is following the positive signs shown in the preseason by Lorenzo Colombo. But the tactician won’t mind having Jovic in the squad.
What Luca Jovic can add to AC Milan
Known for being a poacher, Jovic could form a good partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
According to sources, it is believed that AC Milan will see what opportunities are available late in the window to help in the forward department, with Luka Jovic arriving on loan a possibility not to be excluded.
However, Spanish outlet EFE (via MilanNews) reported that the Serbia international has other priorities and might instead decide to return to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Jovic had shown his mettle in the German team as a finisher, scoring 36 goals in two seasons, before moving on to Real Madrid for around €60m. He would therefore want to return to where he is already familiar with and wants to regain his scoring form.
This might knock AC Milan out of the race. Another thing is that he might now return to compete for shirt in the team on a paid loan which already boasts André Silva as an option up front.
It is expected that the Serbian will decided his next call before the current transfer window closes as he is considered to be in the lower pecking order in Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane prefers to have fellow countryman, Kareem Benzema as the team’s number 9. Benzema has proved his mettle season after seasons, leading to the eventual sales of the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Alvaro Morata.
Reports in Spain have also claimed that the Jovic move to his former club and Zidane is not opposed to it after some other top clubs expressed interest in him.
So, we will have to wait to see what happens in the next couple of days.
