    Luis Suarez, the Uruguayan forward returned to his former team in the summer and had a dream comeback after helping them win their third championship in the previous four years. Ironically, the Montevideo team defeated Liverpool, the namesake of the Merseyside powerhouse, to win the championship.

    The now-35-year-old sobbed as he added, “I’m not going to play [here] again, but I will come back to the club at some point. It’s goodbye.

    “The moment has arrived, and I want to start by saying thank you for everything. As I already stated, I was returning because I wanted to and because of you [the fans].

    “The fact that we are at a level where people talk about what Nacional’s fans have accomplished and each of you must continue to be proud of that is your achievement.”

    Now that Suarez is approaching the end of his career and is looking for another club, it is unclear what his future may hold. The former forward for Ajax, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid will compete for his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

    On the other hand, His former teammate and close friend of the striker Lionel Messi has also been mentioned in connection with a move to the United States on numerous occasions in the past, with David Beckham’s Inter Miami being one of the clubs interested in signing him.

    After the current season, the Argentine’s contract with French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain expires, and following the World Cup, negotiations over his future are expected to begin.
