Former Liverpool and Atletico Madrid star Luis Suárez and the former Manchester United and PSG legendary forward Edinson Cavani are set to play in their fourth and last World Cup tournament following their old age as the duo are currently 35 years old.

Also, three other veteran members of Uruguay’s squad were also included in Diego Alonso’s list— goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, defenders Diego Godín and Martín Cáceres.

The 35-year-old former Liverpool and Atletico Madrid legendary striker Luis Suarez returned to play for his boyhood club Nacional last summer.

Suarez has appeared in 14 matches this season in Primera División and scored a total of 7 goals for his Uruguayan club before he announced his departure from the club.

The 35-year-old legendary goalscorer has netted over 500 career goals for club and country.

Edinson Cavani

On the other hand, the former Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani has been impressive for his new side, Valencia this season but his current injury has reduced his brilliant form to just four goals.

Cavani is widely considered one of the best strikers of his generation, and he is known for his intelligent movement off the ball, his clinical finishing, and his heading ability.

He has earned 133 caps and scored 58 stunning international goals for Uruguay and the 35-year-old former Manchester United striker will hopefully add more goals to his international career in the Qatar World Cup tournament.

Uruguay coach Diego Alonso also included Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo in his team even though the player is yet to fully recover from his thigh injury.

Uruguay falls in Group H with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, South Korea and Ghana.
