Loris Sven Karius (born 22 June 1993) is a German professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Newcastle United.
Karius, a Biberach native, started his professional career with Stuttgart before transferring to Manchester City in 2009. He spent two years in Manchester City’s youth program before joining Mainz 05 and moving back to Germany.
He became the Bundesliga team’s first-choice keeper before making the £4.75 million transfer to Liverpool in 2016.
